Crown Jewel Outlook: September-December 2026

We’ve settled into a pretty comfortable release pace this summer, with a number of fun coffees from Kenya (Washed Peaberry & Anaerobic Natural), Uganda (Honey, Natural, and Anaerobic Natural), and Sumatra (Natural, Jasmine and Lychee Infused) added to the menu, as well as our first Ethiopia releases (“Supernatural,” Rue and Lemongrass Co-Ferments) of the season.

The bulk of our Ethiopian coffees are anticipated to land in September and October, and they’ll be joined throughout the rest of the year by a number of delicious rarities and exciting newcomers, plus a few familiar faces. Let’s check out a quick summary of what to expect:

New Coffees from Asia

We’re adding new Asian origins to the lineup with two airfreight shipments, a natural from Thailand and a Tea-Coffee co-ferment from China.

Ethiopian Expansion

We went big on natural process this year, as availability was good and quality was better. Here are a couple of highlights with ETAs in Sept/Oct:

• Hambela Honey – the closest we’re getting to a washed coffee this year, it’s elegantly floral and peachy
• Guji Uraga Carbonic – bigtime fruit bomb
• A community natural from our favorite washing station, Chelchele, and a suite of single farmer naturals, including a couple of organic certified lots.

Guatemala Returns

We didn’t source a single Crown Jewel from Guatemala in 2025, but not for lack of trying. This year, we got requests in early and found some incredible coffees.

• Bourbon Pointu (aka Laurina). Extremely limited quantities, half the caffeine.
• Anaerobic Petite Champagne. Little beans, big flavor.
• A Gesha and a Malawi cultivar from Antigua

Indonesian Offerings

With later ETAs than usual, we’re still anticipating some really fun selections from the Pacific Islands later this year.

• Bali Carbonic Maceration
• Sumatra Washed, Hybrid Washed, and Natural

Colombia Classics and Co-Ferments

We returned to Edwin Noreña (Campo Hermoso) and Juliana Guevara and Wbeimar Lasso (Terraza) for more of their incredible coffees:

• Classic washed Gesha and Java, and Pink Bourbon Natural from Terraza
• Sudan Rume, Hoppy Pink Bourbon, and Raspberry (aka Cherry Madness) from Edwin Noreña

Rwanda

With anticipated shipment in September, I’m expecting a washed and an anaerobic natural from Nyakizu to arrive before the end of December.

This list makes up the bulk of our Crown Jewel lineup for the rest of 2026, but I’m always on the hunt for exciting new coffees, so don’t be surprised if you see a couple unexpected additions to the menu.
