Water Composition & Coffee: Theory & Tasting

June 5 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This is an opportunity for your inner chemistry-nerd to geek out on coffee! Lean about customizing your water for coffee, and taste different minerals in water and their effect on brewing. $150, geared towards coffee professionals and enthusiasts. Register here.

The Coffee Buyers’ Cupping Table: Focus on Kenya

June 7 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Taste newly landed arrivals from Kenya with Royal Coffee Trader Caitlin McCarthy-Garcia. This is a purchasing-focused cupping. Registration is free and intended for coffee professionals who contribute to purchasing decisions Register here.

First Friday Art Walk featuring Michael Ryan

June 7 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a free event to celebrate the creative work of our new quarterly artist, Michael Ryan. Ryan’s process involved a mash-up of traditional oil painting techniques with printmaking strategies in an attempt to mesh the mechanical with the brushstrokes of human touch. Register here.

Intermediate Roasting

June 11-12

An investigation of the chemical and physical changes that take place in the roaster, this class will investigate roast defects and improve the operator’s ability to profile roasts and confidently operate a production machine. Led by The Crown’s Director of Roasting Candice Madison. This class is intended for professionals seeking skill-building in roasting and for students who already posses a grasp of roasting fundamentals. The Coffee Buyers’ Cupping Table: Single Farmer Ethiopian Coffees

June 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Latte Art Class

June 19 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Learn to steam milk and pour lattes and cappuccinos with The Crown’s Tasting Room Director Sandra Elisa Loofbourow. A little theory and a lot of practice are in the works for this class. $100 for enthusiasts and entry-level professionals. Register here.

Job Fair

June 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

We’ve teamed up with Andytown, Blue Bottle, Equator, and Red Bay, and more to give coffee professionals the chance to connect with hiring managers and learn about employment opportunities.
