Orange, honey, chamomile, and clean sweetness are what you can expect from this coffee. Albeit a little simple, this is an easy-going coffee that could be a great offering to serve as a classic drip coffee in the medium-to-medium plus range. Try playing with developing it in the roaster a bit longer to curate more sweetness and add a delicious roundness to the profile.

Organic, and women-produced, this coffee seems to have it all!  Asociación de Productores Cafetelaros de la Cuenca del Rio Marañón (APROCCURMA)has been working directly with 124 women producers to establish coffee production from farms owned and managed by women. They use organic practices to manage just a few acres of land intercropped with shade trees, bananas, corn, and beans.

The co-op carries out activities that often go unnoticed but are crucial for producers who have small farms. Investments for basic infrastructure needs like road improvements, establishing local warehouses, and preparing coffee for export are all coordinated through APROCCURMA. The group also helps women with financing, training, and technical assistance to help improve the quality of coffee.

In the cup, the team found notes of cacao nibs, cola, dark berries, and a touch of nutty flavors. The finish presents itself with a slightly bitter finish and thus we recommend taking this to a medium plus to dark roast range. This could be a delicious cold brew offering as the long brew time could mellow out some of the bitterness. Another good match for this coffee could be to roast as French roast style but alas, the options are endless: don’t let us limit you in our recommendations.

Alternatively, a French roast style on this coffee could serve your dark roast lovers and would also be a good match for this coffee. But alas, the options are endless and don’t let us limit you in our recommendations!
