As a founding member of the SCAA and continuing member of the SCA, Royal Coffee does not view the Association’s decision to hold competition events in Dubai nor its recently published Deferred Candidacy policy with apathy or disinterest. The future of the Association and our participation in its events are imperiled when dissenting voices are ignored and no meaningful solutions have been put forward. Royal Coffee continues to evaluate the SCA’s performance in relation to all of its members, and we expect leadership to exhibit solidarity with its peers. We await further significant action from the SCA to be decided after a consideration of member feedback and town hall meetings, and Royal’s path forward with or without the Association will be predicated on this action.
