Coffee Background

Honduras RFA San Vicente SHG EP is sourced from Maira Yesenia Portillo Diaz, Benigno Mejia, Orfilia Vallecillo Martinez, Ramon Lara, Nelson Ramirez, David Omar Muñoz Ulloa, and Yerin Sagastume. These family-owned farms are located in communities of Las Vegas, Los Laureles, El Cielito, and El Dorado within the department of Santa Barbara, Honduras. These seven small farms cling to the steep slopes of the Santa Barbara mountain range, a world renowned micro-region recognized every year in the Honduras Cup of Excellence. These select group of producers collaborate with an exporting company called Beneficio San Vicente to gain access to technical support for best agricultural practices. The partnership has helped to improve quality, increase earnings from coffee sales, and strengthen each family’s livelihood.
