The 51A, 6 & NL AC Transit bus lines all drop off within a 5-10 minute walk of The Crown.

OFF STREET PARKING

Parking in this area is scarce, even on the luckiest of days. 2 Hour Metered parking is offered throughout the area @ $2/hour.

PAID PARKING GARAGE

The Downtown Oakland YMCA has a parking garage located at 2350 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612 @ $20/day.

You can take the Broadway Shuttle between here and The Crown or a 20-30 minute walk away.

Closer to us is the Kissel Uptown (right next door) and Oakland Marriott City Center located in Downtown Oakland which is BART, walking, and Broadway Shuttle accessible.

FLYING HERE

Domestic flyers can find tons of flights in and out of Oakland International Airport (OAK). For international travelers or less serviced parts of the United States you can fly in and out of San Francisco International (SFO). Both are accessible via BART.

AIRBNB

Most listings in these neighborhoods will be walking distance (in order of most proximate): Uptown Oakland, Downtown Oakland, Adams Point or Lake Merritt. Staying anywhere in Berkeley, Oakland or San Francisco near a BART station will also ensure you can easily get to us.

COFFEE

Oakland might have one of the best coffee scenes anywhere in the US. The city of Oakland recently launched Oakland Coffee Rush to help promote this city’s great history with the coffee industry, From The Crown, you can check out the following roasting companies, all within walking distance: Awaken Cafe & Roasting, Bicycle Coffee, Blue Bottle, Equator Coffee, Farley’s Coffee, Firebrand Bread, Highwire Coffee, Modern Coffee, Red Bay Coffee, Slojoy Coffee, Sweet Bar Bakery. This doesn’t include all the great non-roasting cafes and restaurants serving great coffee from companies like Mr. Espresso, served at Mua Oakland and Due Torri, served at Wooden Table Cafe.

 

RESTAURANTS

There is an incredible diversity of restaurants surrounding The Crown. Mua serves delicious food and cocktails right across the street. Sweet Bar is one block away and serves all the amazing pastries you could ever want. 

Limon has tasty Peruvian food. Smelly’s Creole has incredible comfort food, but make sure to reserve a tableLovely’s and Two Pitchers Brewing got you covered for burgers, beer, and hot chicken sandwiches

Taava has incredible Indian food. Shawarmaji provides the area with filling felafel and scrumptious shawarma (don’t forget the toum garlic sauce)Beeryland has beer, but also a casual venue for big summertime burgers.

For freshly prepared takeaway, try KP Asian Market, and pick up fresh produce while you’re at it. Drake’s Dealership has great pizza. Heck, there’s even a Taco Bell! You won’t go hungry.

DRINKS

There are numerous places to get a beautiful beer, a wonderful wine, or a magical mixed drink – all within walking distance. Drake’s Dealership serves craft beers, as do Two Pitchers, Beeryland, and the Double Standard. Just choose your vibe. 

For wine, check out The Punchdown right up Broadway, or go just a bit further afield to Ordinaire.  Knowledgeable servers can find you something that fits your mood and flavor profile!

Fans of the mixed drink have come to the right part of town. Mua is right across the street from The Crown. Bar 355 isn’t too far away, and is the best spot for great music and excellent cocktails.

For or mixed drinks and the hippest venue, walk right up 25th to Friends and Family (though they have limited hours these days). The options are nearly endless!
