Visiting The Crown
We cannot wait to host you in our Tasting Room, at the Cupping Table or for a Coffee Course.
One of the special things about The Crown is that we are located in the heart of Uptown Oakland – a veritable paradise for coffee lovers & foodies alike. However, parking is limited in the area, and we highly encourage public transportation or ride sharing. Below are some resources to help you plan your visit.

We are a 5-10 minute walk North of 19th Street BART
BROADWAY SHUTTLE “THE FREE B”
We are a 5 minute walk from the Broadway Shuttle stop at Grand/Webster
The 51A, 6 & NL AC Transit bus lines all drop off within a 5-10 minute walk of The Crown.
OFF STREET PARKING
Parking in this area is scarce, even on the luckiest of days. 2 Hour Metered parking is offered throughout the area @ $2/hour.
PAID PARKING GARAGE
The Downtown Oakland YMCA has a parking garage located at 2350 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612 @ $20/day.
We recommend the Z Hotel Jack London Square located in Oakland’s beautiful Jack London Square neighborhood. You can take the Broadway Shuttle between here and The Crown or a 20-30 minute walk away.
Closer to us is the Oakland Marriott City Center located in Downtown Oakland which is BART, walking and Broadway Shuttle accessible.
Domestic flyers can find tons of flights in and out of Oakland International Airport (OAK). For international travelers or less serviced parts of the United States you can fly in and out of San Francisco International (SFO). Both are accessible via BART.
There is an incredible diversity of restaurants surrounding The Crown. Mua serves delicious food and cocktails right across the street. Sweet Bar is one block away and serves all the amazing pastries you could ever want. Wooden Table Cafe has tasty Argentine food, and some sweet alfajores. Firebrand Artisan Breads has fresh loaves every day, and makes a mean sandwich. Cafe Dareye serves take-out vegetarian Ethiopian food just up the block. Dosa has incredible Indian food. Blind Tiger serves an amazing array of small plates influenced by Southeast Asian cuisine. Kingston 11 has Jamaican cuisine that’s to die for. Brown Sugar Kitchen operates an award winning soul food restaurant just down the street. Drake’s Dealership has great pizza. Heck, there’s even a Taco Bell! You won’t go hungry.
There are numerous places to get a beautiful beer, a wonderful wine, or a magical mixed drink – all within walking distance. Drake’s Dealership serves craft beers, as do The Good Hop, Telegraph Beer Garden, and Lost & Found. Just choose your vibe.
Fans of the mixed drink have come to the right part of town. Mua is right across the street from The Crown. There’s The Double Standard just a block over on Telegraph Avenue. Bar 355 isn’t too far away, and is the best spot for good music and excellent cocktails. For mixed drinks and the hippest venue, walk right up Grand Avenue to the Starline Social Club. The options are nearly endless!
Oakland might have one of the best coffee scenes anywhere in the US. The city of Oakland recently launched Oakland Coffee Rush to help promote this city’s great history with the coffee industry, From The Crown, you can check out the following roasting companies, all within walking distance: Awaken Cafe & Roasting, Bicycle Coffee, Blue Bottle, Equator Coffee, Farley’s Coffee, Firebrand Bread, Highwire Coffee, Modern Coffee, Red Bay Coffee, Slojoy Coffee, Sweet Bar Bakery. This doesn’t include all the great non-roasting cafes and restaurants serving great coffee from companies like Mr. Espresso, served at Mua Oakland and Due Torri, served at Wooden Table Cafe.
