MC decaf coffee is decaffeinated using Methylene Chloride (MC). In this method the green beans are steamed or soaked to expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The expanded beans are then soaked in MC, which bonds with the caffeine molecules and break them away from the bean. The decaffeinated coffee is then removed from the MC solvent and rinsed thoroughly. The green coffee is then re-dried and re-bagged for transport. thoroughly.
