Coffee Background

PERU FTO TYPICA PUNKU RUMI GABINO BERNILLA SHB EP GRAINPRO is produced by Gabino Bernilla and processed as a micro-lot by the Asociación de Productores Mamahuaca, an organization established in January of 2017. Gabino and his family own and manage a 7-acre farm called Corral de Piedra, located in the community of Punku Rumi within the district of Salas in the Lambayeque región, Peru. Gabino has been cultivating coffee for more than twenty years. Gabino and other members of Mamahuaca are currently focused on renovating their farms. Through Mamahuaca they also support a local Elementary school and a water project in Punku Rumi. In addition to coffee, Gabino and his family cultivate avocadoes, sugarcane, and fruit and citrus trees. Gabino’s plans for the future include adding a water irrigation system to his farm so he can produce other crops all year and diversify his income.
