“Assume Nothing!” A mantra for The Crown as we worked towards opening our doors in March of 2019, the phrase became a Menu section, encouraging our visitors to drop their preconceptions and be open to new and delicious experiences. And now it’s the title of a recipe series, for you to recreate at home. Here’s to a year of assuming nothing!
Pancake Party
An indulgent, sweetened non-dairy chilled latte, and a party in your mouth!
Ingredients:
- 6oz Freshly Brewed Dark Roast Coffee, any brew method will work!
- 2oz Oatly Oat Milk (substitute your choice of dairy or alternative milk if you prefer)
- 1oz Bourbon Vanilla Maple Syrup
Directions:
Combine brewed coffee (preferably a dark roast), Oatly oat milk, and Bourbon Vanilla Maple Syrup at a 6:2:1 ratio, coffee to Oatly to syrup. Served cold, typically without ice. Double the recipe and share with a friend to start the party! Make a batch and save in the fridge for up to three days… Pancake Party for the long weekenddddd!
At the Crown, we charged the drink in a keg with nitro for extra creaminess, an effect that can be replicated at home with a whip cream charger.
Description:
We hatched an idea for a new syrup, made with bourbon, maple syrup, and vanilla, meant to pair well with our dark roast coffee offering. It was delicious and unabashedly decadent – a party in your mouth! With all of the elements – bourbon vanilla syrup, dark roast coffee, and alternative milk – in balance, the drink reminded everyone of a pancake breakfast, and thus the Pancake Party was born.
