Coffee Background

Guatemala Finca Alotepeque Mario Jordan Duarte Pacamara is produced by Mario Jordan Duarte. Mario and his family own a 202-acre farm called Finca Alotepeque located in the community of La Canadá within the municipality of Concepción Las Minas in the department of Chiquimula, Guatemala. Mario and his family started farming coffee in 1990. Finca Alotepeque is an important source of year-round employment in the communities near La Canadá. In addition to Coffee, Finca Alotepeque has 40 acres of preserved natural forest. The farm also produces bananas, avocadoes, and citrus trees such as oranges, mandarins and lemons. Mario's goal is to continue renovating Finca Alotepeque with specialty coffee varietals such as pacamara and bourbon.
