This coffee is sourced from family owned farms organized around the Edido Cooperative located in Idido also known as Singage within the coffee region of Yirgacheffe in the Gedeo Zone, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, Ethiopia. The Edido Cooperative was established in 1975, and currently has 1,247 members. It joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU) in 2002. The YCFCU has more than 45,000 farmer members and 24 different cooperatives. The members of each primary cooperative elect their own executive committee, which makes decisions about investments like new equipment and tree maintenance, and how to structure payments to the coop members. YCFCU also appoints professional managers for each primary cooperative to oversee harvest and processing procedures, but the manager is accountable to the members and the executive committee.
