Coffee Background

Honduras RFA Merendon SHB EP is sourced from family-owned farms located in the Sierra del Merendón, a mountain range in the western corner of Honduras. The Sierra del Merendón is not your typical growing region in Honduras. Unlike many of the hard to reach areas of Honduras, Merendón casts its shadow on San Pedro Sula, the second largest city in Honduras. But don’t let the proximate to San Pedro Sula foul you. The rugged terrain is covered in dense tropical forest and full of wildlife. The producers in the area have a keen interest in protecting their environment and cultivating coffee in harmony with RFA principles of conserving forest, soil, and water resources.
