Roberto is the owner of La Laguna Estate located in the municipality of Fraijanes within the department of Guatemala, Guatemala. The estate is certified Bird-Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and has been certified organic since 2004. La Laguna Estate is intercropped with a rich diversity of shade trees and bananas. Coffee cherries are meticulously processed at La Laguna through an environmentally friendly wet mill that utilizes recycled water. Pulp from processing is also collected, composted, and used as the base for organic fertilizer at La Laguna.
