COLOMBIA FTO TOLIMA ASOCANAFI GRAINPRO is sourced from family owned farms organized around Asociación de Cafeteros Nasawe'sx fi'zñi de Gaitania (ASOCANAFI), located in La Palmera a resguardo indigena (indigenous reservation) called nasawe'sx fi'zñi in Gaitania whithin the municipality of Planadas in the department of Tolima, Colombia. ASOCANAFI is comprised of 54 members from the Páez indigenous group, also known as the Nasa. ASOCANAFI was founded in August 2011 and started to export in 2014. ASOCANAFI assists its members with ongoing trainings that promote sustainable agricultural practices. Members are currently working on water treatment projects while promoting reforestation. ASOCANAFI supports coffee producers to obtain their organic certification as another way to open new opportunities for coffee producers in La Palmera.
