Coffee Background

Sumatra Lake Toba Lintong Grade 1 is sourced from 200 coffee producers from the communities of Silimakuta, Tanah Karo and Samosir. On average, producers cultivate coffee on 2.5 acres of land using their own micro-mills to depulp and dry coffee. Then coffee producers deliver their coffee cherries to a mill owned and operated by CV Sustain Sumatra, located near the shores of Lake Toba (formed from a supervolcano) in the province of North Sumatra on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. CV Sustain Sumatra is a family-owned export company that collaborates with farmers to access the international coffee markets, ensuring greater earnings from direct trade relationships.
