ETHIOPIA GEDEB 1 ORGANIC NATURAL ALEMAYEHU ALAKO GRAINPRO is produced by Alemyehu Alako and processed as a separate lot at the Worka Cooperative where Alemayehu Alako is a member. The Worka cooperative is located in the southern district of Gedeb, Ethiopia. The cooperative was established in 2005 and has approximately 300 members. In 2005, the cooperative joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), an umbrella organization established 2002 to support a sustainable coffee supply from cooperatives in the Gedeo ethnic region of Ethiopia. There are twenty-six other cooperatives affiliated with the YCFCU totaling more than 35,000 members.
