COLOMBIA ORGANIC TOLIMA RFA SAINT PETERS is sourced from family-owned farms organized around the Asociación de Saint Peters, located in the municipality of Dolores in the department of Tolima, Colombia. For many years, Tolima has remained hidden in plain sight cradled between other well-known growing regions because armed conflict and coca leaf production has isolated small coffee producers and exposed them to high rates of violence. Saint Peters collaborates with an export company called Lohas Beans to break through the cycle of conflict with the production of quality coffee that will yield better earnings for its members. This collaboration has held producers gain access to technical support for increasing their organic agricultural practices. Lohas is also providing cupping and barista classes to inspire the younger generation to continue working in coffee cultivation.
