Coffee Background

PERU FTO PALTO AMAZONAS is sourced from family owned farms organized around the Asociación de Productores Palto Café Amazonas (Palto), which was established in 2011 to support coffee producers from El Palto and Lonya Grande, communities within the province of Utcubamba in the department of Amazonas, Peru. Palto provides training and financial resources aimed at improving quality and yields to increase farmer incomes. Palto is currently working to improve sustainable farm management by promoting coffee cultivation under native shade trees. Palto has also built a centralized mill to ensure consistent drying and improved coffee processing.
