This coffee is sourced from 650 family owned farms located within the Gedeb District in the Gedeo Zone, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, Ethiopia. Producers deliver ripe cherries to Abiyot Ageze’s washing station every day during the harvest season. At the washing station coffee is carefully sorted, pulped, fermented, and then washed. The washed parchment is carefully sorted and immediately placed on raised beds, constructed to ensure proper air circulation. Coffee is turned regularly on to prevent uneven drying. After the moisture is reduced to less than 12 percent, the parchment is transported to Addis Ababa to be milled and prepared for export.
