In Specialty Coffee, we have the privilege of serving coffee to people from all walks of life.. Hospitality, at its best, means interacting with customers and colleagues in a way that far exceeds expectations; this is the best way to foster lasting relationships. Service, in the literal meaning of serving others — customers, colleagues, and our community — should always be a priority. Together, we’ll go over the goals of good customer service and create a toolbox of techniques we can use to create an environment that is welcoming, hospitable, and safe for all.

About the Instructor:

Sandra Elisa Loofbourow, Tasting Room Director, The Crown

Sandra is the Tasting Room Director for Royal Coffee’s The Crown. Her experience working as a Spanish/English Interpreter, working in kitchens, and teaching Argentine Tango all influence and inform her approach to coffee. Sandra has been a barista, roaster, and green buyer for several companies in the Bay Area, and is now a certified Q Assistant Instructor. At the Crown: Royal Coffee Lab and Tasting Room she curates the menu, does brew experimentation and coffee analysis, and serves fascinating coffees and delicious education to consumers and professionals alike.
