Coffee Technicians Guild: Safety, Water, and Electricity
This lecture, hosted by the Coffee Technicans Guild, consists of three modules on some of the most important aspects of working on the machines behind your bar, in order. Safety first. You’ll also learn about how to handle the water in your machine, and how to deal with electrical issues.
This lecture is a great place to begin learning about the tools of the trade, best practices for troubleshooting, and how to keep your machines in tip-top shape. Our session will go from 10am to 2:30pm.
This is a donation-based event. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Grounds for Health, a global non-profit focused on reducing cervical cancer among women in coffee growing regions around the world.
About the Coffee Technicians Guild
The Coffee Technicians Guild (CTG) is an official trade guild of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) dedicated to supporting the coffee industry through the development of professional technicians. The CTG strives to be the voice of technicians within the coffee community. Founded in 2016, the guild is now welcoming its first members and hopes to create a community of technicians who can provide mutual support and knowledge, as well as provide opportunities to develop skills and learn best practices.
About Grounds for Health
Since 1996, Grounds for Health has worked in Latin America and Africa to address one of the most significant disparities in women’s health globally. Cervical cancer is a nearly 100% treatable disease, and yet in the next 15 years it is expected to kill six million women – 90% of whom will live in developing countries. We specialize in working in communities that represent the base of global supply chains such as coffee, tea, cut flowers and cocoa. We are a mission-driven, international non-profit organization, born out of and with enduring ties to the coffee industry, and focused on increasing coverage of cervical cancer prevention services.
