Background Details

This coffee is produced by Adisu Kidane and processed as a separate micro-lot at the Halo Bariti Cooperative where Adisu is a member. The Halo Bariti cooperative is located in the southern district of Gedeb, Ethiopia. The cooperative was established in 2012, and in 2014 Adisu’s farm was selected as a model to help everyone in the cooperative improve their harvesting methods.  Adisu was born in Gedeb and started working alongside his father on the family farm when he was very young.  When his father passed away in 2002, Adisu used his inherited land and three decades of experience in coffee to focus his efforts on specialty coffee.  He plans to use the premiums from coffee sales to establish his on mill and continue to support his family, which includes his wife, 8 children (6 girls), and his mother.
